The final track among our initiatives will be the AFC Apartments. Because of its complexity and magnitude, this project will require a longer time frame in order to reach our goal of providing 200 units of safe, affordable, mixed-income housing to Bronx residents. With only a 4.6% housing vacancy rate in the Bronx, there is great demand for multifamily dwellings. The two proposed apartment towers will occupy approximately 24,000 square feet and be constructed using contemporary “green” technology and design, including solar energy, green roofing and LEED certification. Mid-Bronx Senior Citizens Council will be the managers of the completed complex.
