The AFH Residency Program is a nomination-based program. Nominated artists are asked to accept their nomination and submit information about their work. A selection committee made up of local arts professionals will select a short list of qualified artists from the pool of nominees.
Artists are invited to apply, but are not guaranteed a residency.
What we’re looking for:
- Artists must live and/or work in The Bronx or have a connection to the local community.
- Emerging to mid-career artists working in various mediums that have a progressive track record of dedication to their craft.
- Social artists interested in engaging with new people and cultures.
Studio availability is limited and available on a rotating basis. Each accepted artist is expected to, not only work and utilize their studio to their maximum potential during their residency, but also contribute to the well-being and growth of The Andrew Freedman Home and its surrounding community.
